TECO TSXi Soft Starter

TECO TSXi Soft Starter

Fully Featured Industrial Soft Starter | 24–1250 A | Up to 690 VAC

The TECO TSXi is a fully featured three-phase industrial soft starter covering motors from 24 to 1250 A, operating up to 690 VAC with an internal bypass as standard. It is built for industrial applications where precise control over motor acceleration and deceleration, adaptive load management, active braking and deep system integration are genuine requirements.

The TECO TSXi manages motor behaviour across the full start and stop sequence — adjusting acceleration profiles dynamically to what the load is actually doing, controlling deceleration to protect pipelines and mechanical systems at shutdown, and providing active braking where natural coast-down is a process or safety constraint. In high-inertia applications such as crushers, mills and heavy conveyors, or in pumping systems where stopping behaviour has a direct impact on pipeline integrity, the difference between a controlled profile and a fixed ramp is the difference between a system that behaves predictably and one that introduces stress every time it cycles.

Motor protection on the TECO TSXi matches the depth of the control architecture. A dual-order thermal motor model tracks heat accumulation across consecutive starts and heavy load cycles — not just current magnitude. Protection responses are configurable per event: trip, soft trip, warning or log, allowing maintenance teams to manage critical assets without forcing unnecessary shutdowns. The 384-event log with real-time clock timestamps gives engineers and maintenance managers the data to understand what happened and when, supporting root cause analysis without relying on operator recollection.

For industrial MCC installations, OEM panels and integrated control systems across Australia and New Zealand, the TECO TSXi provides the control depth, diagnostics capability and integration flexibility that demanding industrial applications require.

  • Multiple stop methods — adaptive stop, DC brake, soft brake, TVR
  • DC Brake and Soft Brake
  • Dual-order thermal motor model protection
  • Configurable protection responses — trip, soft trip, warning or log
  • 384-event log with real-time clock timestamps
  • Dual parameter sets
  • Inside-delta capability with automatic detection
  • AC53 utilisation rated
  • Emergency Fire Mode operation
  • USB parameter backup and firmware update
  • Optional fieldbus expansion — Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Profinet,
  • EtherNet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet
  • Smart Card expansion — pump application module available
  • Full three-phase control provides symmetrical torque management across all phases, improving acceleration behaviour in demanding industrial applications.
  • Adaptive Control matches the acceleration profile to actual load conditions — relevant in applications where load varies between starts, such as conveyors under different material volumes or crushers encountering variable feed.
  • Adaptive stopping manages deceleration dynamically, maintaining pipeline pressure stability in pumping systems and reducing hydraulic transients that fixed-ramp stopping introduces.
  • DC Brake and Soft Brake provide active stopping where natural coast-down time affects productivity or safety — crushers, high-inertia conveyors, large fan assemblies.
  • Dual-order thermal modelling tracks heat accumulation across consecutive starts and load cycles, not just instantaneous current — protecting motors operating in demanding duty profiles.
  • Configurable protection responses allow maintenance teams to manage critical assets without forcing hard trips on first-event conditions — warning or log responses keep the process running until a planned shutdown.
384-event log with RTC timestamps supports post-event root cause analysis without relying on operator recollection.
  • Dual parameter sets allow different operating configurations to be selected depending on process requirements — without re-commissioning the starter.
  • Inside-delta capability with automatic detection allows the TSXi to be applied in inside-delta motor configurations without external switching logic.
  • Smart Card pump module extends capability to application-specific pumping logic — pump clean, calendar scheduling and dedicated pumping protections without PLC programming.
  • Optional fieldbus integration connects the TSXi into PLC and SCADA architectures when required, without mandating it where it is not.
